Health & Safety

Butler & Willow are a health and safety conscientious and driven company. We continually refer to and monitor current health and safety legislation and approved code of practices to ensure our company policies and procedures are current within our own offices and site projects.

Competency and Qualifications

Having invested heavily in our staff Health and Safety awareness and training, we are proud to boast team qualifications ranging from Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) to National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) General and NEBOSH Construction. We have “in house” Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)Testing facilities and several trained First Aiders.

Many of our projects have also required our teams to undergo and pass Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checks due to the sensitivity of the work site environment.

Accreditations

Butler & Willow work very closely with Health and Safety representative bodies, authorities and Construction Design and Management (CDM) Co-ordinators. As legislation and practices have changed over the years our accreditations have become wider and stronger.

We are currently fully Construction Health and Safety (CHAS) accredited and have a Construction Line application due imminently. We are also a long standing member of Safety Shield and Safety Line who also carry out annual Health and Safety audits within our business mechanics.

Training

The proactive approach to Health and Safety within our business has now positioned us to be able to carry out “in house” training for our employees and extended site teams. This includes Health and Safety responsibilities, Asbestos awareness, Manual Handling, Display Screen Equipment (DSE), Fire Risks, etc. This ensures regular training regimes can be managed and implemented.
