Friday 25th November
Bryony Balen and the team have departed and are on course to arrive at the Union Glacier Base in Antarctica. High winds at the base have meant flights have been brought forward by six hours to allow more teams (along with Bryony’s) to arrive on the continent, and prevent further delays.
The flight is due to take approximately five hours, and the plane itself, (IL-76) will land on the famous Union Glacier Blue-Ice Runway. Upon arrival the team will stay at the base before preparing for the final flight to the starting point at the Hercules Inlet.
As a supporter of twenty one year old Bryony Balen’s British Antarctic Record attempt, Butler & Willow will be tracking Bryony’s adventure every step of the way.
Visit southpoleadventure.com for further details about the expedition.
