Primopost is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of printed and plain flexible packaging solutions for the food and non-food industries. As an existing client of Butler & Willow, Buxton based Primopost contacted the workspace design and storage specialist to consult on the effective storage of ‘work in progress’ pallets as the company thrives and production increases.
Butler & Willow investigated several options including “drive-in” and ”push-back” racking, but due to the nature of the area and the limits set by its height, extract ducting, existing fork lift truck and static machinery, standard adjustable pallet racking was deemed to suit best.
The new racking scheme has created a capacity increase of over 250%, with additional locations possible with the introduction of further beam levels for smaller height pallets.
The store was designed using the same adjustable pallet racking system as the raw material and finished goods projects to allow integration at a later date.
Jonathan Butler of Butler & Willow commented: “Our ongoing relationship with Primopost gives us a thorough understanding of the business and its needs. We recommended the standard racking as it was a simple yet effective solution for this particular circumstance and has the flexibility to accommodate future growth.”
